The position

Introducing Thermo Fisher Scientific, sought after and successful in providing you all the tools required for the current position, the Global Medical Director – Allergy Surgery in the Medical and Scientific Affairs (MSA) team. In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to take a leadership position with respect to cross functional as well as strategic aspects for IDD.

The fundamental aspect of this role is come up with a global position that seeks to expand the medical pillars of allergy within the firm. You will focus on marketing of a novel in vitro diagnostic device and laboratory system for the management of allergic diseases and help in educating the medical community about the products.

We would prefer you to be located at the Uppsala site in Sweden where the global headquarters for the IDD is located. In this case you may be employed fully remotely from locations across Europe, the US or Canada assuming you would be willing to work during European hours. International travel will be required as follows – typically at least 25% and in some cases up to half of working time, including regular short trips to Uppsala, Sweden.

What will you be responsible for?

Medical, Scientific and Clinical Strategy

Create a concrete medical campaign to market the products and educate the healthcare practitioners with an aim of increasing the market for allergy diagnostic products.

Establish a systematic and robust global publication plan that integrates with the business to enhance the performance and the medical needs of all existing and future products of IDD.

Continually update oneself on the trends and developments occurring in medical and clinical environments in order to position the IDD as one of the key players on the market.

Medical Knowledge and Practice

Utilize your medical background in marketing, sales, manufacturing, quality assurance and regulatory affairs. You will also interact with healthcare providers, patients and advocacy groups on the other end.

Be aware of and monitor for changes in the disease state paradigm, and the clinical diagnostic algorithms for the global standard of care, competitive intelligence and views and opinions held by KOLs.

Attend meetings and sessions organized by the companies so as to share the same knowledge as others.

Carry out and support a high level of global allergy key opinion leaders and their networks.

Be responsible for the MSA management/contribution of post market surveillence process and the support of investigator initiated studies in HF.

Approve advertising & promotional items, scientific and educational materials in line with business partners’ guidelines.

Management and supervisory responsibility

Head the allergy medical advisers team consisting on two individual contributors.

Ensure efficient distribution of medical affairs data to other groups in the organization.

Identify gaps and opportunities within the business model and the market that would improve the servicing of the MSA.

Establish productive and effective working relationships with team members from other functional areas.

For above mentioned position, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications:

Doctor degree (MD or MD-PhD) is the required level of education.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience including but not limited to diagnostics and medical device industry and/or consulting and academic.

Proven experience in leading the medical specialty area of allergy.

Prior work experience treating allergic patients and/or performing testing in a clinical research laboratory is highly desirable.

Ability to effectively convey complicated scientific knowledge and information with associated facts to different audiences.

Ability to negotiate, resolve issues and influence senior management on strategic issues.

Must possess a high level of proficiency and performance in a complex and matrix global environment.

A willingness to travel up to 25% – 50% of the time is required. Including overseas assignments.

English Skill level, Advanced Level.

Compensation and Benefits The fiscal year is barreled for shooting. Based on the credibility of salary data provided for this position based in Sweden, it ranges from kr1,041,100.00 – kr1,561,600.00.
