Job Purpose

GOAL has a great opportunity for a Learning & Organisation Development professional who is passionate about designing, delivering, and evaluating impactful learning and organisational development interventions. You will play a key role in shaping the learning culture of a dynamic and ambitious humanitarian organisation of 3,000 team members delivering life-changing programmes across 14 countries in Africa, Middle East and Latin America.

Working with GOAL’s Head of Talent, Learning and Inclusion, and as part of a global team of committed and talented HR colleagues, you will have a voice on people strategy and have a central role in fostering an inclusive, high-performing, learning culture through the roll-out of GOAL’s Learning and Development Framework, its Performance Growth Programme Grow with GOAL, and its Leadership Development Programme.

You will be part of an innovative team shaped by their shared commitment to Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Belonging and who are passionate about delivering impactful L&OD programmes in support of GOAL’s humanitarian mission, including leveraging new AI opportunities in learning strategies. Please note, this role can be based fully remotely from anywhere in the UK.

Duties and responsibilities:

L&OD Planning:

· Work with the Head of Talent, Learning and Inclusion to design and implement OD priorities including L&D, EDI, succession and talent planning, culture development initiatives, and other employee development programmes.

· Develop and promote the Learning and Development planning process for business units which support GOAL’s strategic objectives at HQ and country level, which drives the skills and competencies required by the organisation.

· Manage and support the organisation’s talent mapping and succession planning programme, and support opportunities for progression within GOAL.

 

L&OD Programme Development, Delivery, and Evaluation

· Provide advice and coaching to develop leadership and management capability through

GOAL’s Learning and Development Framework, bespoke learning and development activities, and the development and implementation of skill booster sessions to support people management skills

· Review GOAL’s LMS and advise on best-fit delivery strategy regarding learning technologies and platforms; integrate innovative solutions to enhance the learning experience, including AI.

· Lead the development, commissioning and delivery of programmes to improve and enhance management and leadership capabilities across the organisation.

· Ensure inclusive practice is integrated into GOAL’s L&OD agenda from content to training to support the growth of an organisation culture focused on diversity, dignity, equality, belonging, and inclusion

· Support HR Business Partners in identifying L&D needs in collaboration with line managers and through analysis of personal development objectives identified in the performance management process.

· Design and develop relevant learning curricula for different employee groups aligned with learning needs analysis outcomes

· Manage the delivery of GOAL’s mandatory training requirements, ensuring face-to-face and online courses are developed by the responsible business units as required

· Maintain and coordinating the GOAL Global E-Learning Champions Network and facilitate the network quarterly update sessions, fostering and growing a Learning Community of Practice

· Design and implement evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of training and development initiatives, and implement post-evaluation changes as required

· Assess organisational investment (employee hours) in trainings and development initiatives

· Design engaging communication plans to market learning and development opportunities to GOAL employees including coaching, mentoring, e-learning modules, workshops, and other learning interventions.

· Utilize a variety of media and delivery methods within training programmes to accommodate diverse learning styles

 

Requirements

Essential

· Ability to analyse learning needs and tailor programs to address those needs.

· Proven experience in instructional design and training program content development.

· Facilitation and Presentation Skills

· Demonstrated ability to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes.

· Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

· Project management skills. Adaptability to changing business needs and priorities.

· Familiarity with learning management systems and e-learning platforms.

· Mobility and ability to travel to GOAL countries of operation if requested

Desirable

· Postgraduate degree or certifications in HR or Training and Development

· Creativity in designing engaging learning materials.

· Awareness or possess personality profiling / assessment certifications, e.g., MBTI, Insights, 360 feedback.

· Languages: Arabic and/or French
