Your mission as a Legal Counsel

We are looking for a Legal Counsel (m/f/d) to make sure that Appinio sustains its growth while closely monitoring that we stay compliant in the Spanish and LATAM markets. As an important contact person of the team, you will be setting up compliance policies, processes, and training while addressing data privacy questions on a company-wide basis.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will manage multiple deals and support commercial contracting for Spain and the LATAM region with sound business and legal judgment and a clear sense of the company’s needs
  • Assist in the formulation, communication and implementation of compliance policies and procedures for a high-growth international business
  • Provide legal support, advice and guidance on data privacy topics for the Appinio Group
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial technology agreements
  • Advise on contract terms and regulatory requirements for RfPs
  • Ensure GDPR and international data privacy law compliance and the overseeing of Data Protection Agreements with customers and vendors
  • Ownership for the internal compliance program, by furthering internal compliance policies and providing in-house trainings
  • Respond to enquiries on contract interpretation and compliance from Spanish and LATAM stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on commercial and regulatory matters, providing legal advice on risks, agreement structures, approval processes and company policies.
  • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts

You will thrive in this role if

  • You have up to 4 years of experience in managing multiple deals and supporting commercial contracting, specifically for Spain and the LATAM region
  • You have significant experience in a legal role related to commercial contracting and compliance, preferably within a high growth international firm
  • You have experience managing and ensuring GDPR and international data privacy laws compliance
  • You have expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
  • You have the ability to develop, deliver and maintain internal compliance programs, including creating and updating policies and conducting in-house training based on the new EU Regulations.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English and Spanish to enable you to negotiate, draft and advise fluently on legal and business matters
