Privacy Expert
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Report to the Head of Privacy and collaborate closely with the Data Protection Officer, Security Team, and various cross-functional teams to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust privacy policies, procedures, and practices in strict compliance with global data protection laws and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27701, etc.).
- Take a leading role in enhancing SUSE’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) and Privacy Information Management System (PIMS) through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct thorough privacy impact assessments, risk assessments, and contract reviews to proactively identify and mitigate potential privacy risks across our processes, products, and services.
- Act as a point of contact for privacy-related inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders, including data protection subjects and our valued customers.
- Provide expert guidance and conduct comprehensive training sessions for employees on advanced privacy best practices, data handling, and heightened security awareness.
- Play a crucial role in the incident management program, contributing your expertise to incident response and resolution.
- Evaluate, and ensure third-party solutions and vendor relationships align with stringent privacy compliance standards.
- Collaborate in the development of clear and concise privacy-related communications and notices.
Qualifications:
- Hold a Master’s degree or higher in law, compliance, or governance.
- Having at least 4 years of experience in a law firm out of which at least 2 years of previous experience in an international law firm is a must.
- Passing the Bar Exam is a strong plus.
- Demonstrate a significant track record of experience in privacy or data protection roles, showcasing advanced proficiency.
- Possess extensive experience in conducting gap analysis, due diligences, or audits within the privacy domain.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of global cybersecurity and privacy laws, staying abreast of evolving regulations.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of intricate data processing operations, data flows, and information security practices.
- Possess expertise in GRC security topics, and IT and Security Architecture concepts.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex privacy concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Showcase robust analytical, project management, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP and CISM, SABSA and ISO 27001 LI or similar are a plus.
- Proficiency in any additional language is an advantageous asset.
