Salary Range: £26,830 – £30,428 per annum
What a day as our Proposals executive is Like
In particular, this role involves working in the British Red Cross’ internal proposals and grants department, which is the engine room of large scale fund raising. The team’s job entails working with both fundraisers and colleagues focused on operation to determine or develop persuasive external cases for funding while leading on accountability of fundraised income.
In order to solicit for funds from high-value donors, the Proposals Manager will closely co-operate with the Proposals Executive who drafts these types of proposals on behalf of donor organizations that are willing to give huge sums of money or those who may not have specific projects but only desire to support human rights defenders. These proposals would cover work that has been done by UK based teams focusing on such areas as Refugee Services, Crisis Response and Health.
Providing feedback on UK projects’ progress towards achievement of results through drafting clear and compelling impact reports for diverse donors whose future investments we need to secure. It happens through continuous collaboration between you other fund raisers, operational staff members and even sometimes groups involved in Policy & Advocacy, Finance as well as Communications.
Brevity and tailoring communications to specific audiences are two skills needed for this position because you will often have to summarize very complex information about your programs in a way that different supporters can understand. As an excellent writer you should be able to ensure that every proposal is factually correct thus offering evidence-based analysis into the work we do so that it can resonate among our partners.
You Must Have Experience Writing fast when called upon during a disaster and creating emergency appeal documents
You’ll be able to work at speed, especially when called upon to help with emergency appeal documents and updates.
Your drive and enthusiasm will enable us to increase our essential income for the BRC’s work in UK.

What you’ll bring to the role…
An understanding of high-value fundraising including institutional/corporate/trusts plus foundations/major donors. Experience of working in humanitarian sector in UK would be desirable.
The ability to translate detailed programmatic information as well as complex program budgeting into persuasive perusasions meant for different audiences such as donors or any other potential donors.
You often establish long-term relationships with professionals that have a solid base of trust. You easily build trusted professional relationships.
Your communication skills are important because they involve delivering messages that interest using diverse platforms (personal, online). Moreover, you should be able to negotiate diplomatically with people who matter so as to convince them deliver desired results. You can negotiate with stakeholders and influence them to get results.
Being Financially Literate; able to understand and present complex financial terms.
Good time management and organizational abilities which also include being able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously; flexible agile working is also possible here too. Ability to manage your workload to meet agreed deadlines.
