About the Role:

The Advanced Research Team (ART) within CrowdStrike Intelligence is seeking a highly skilled security researcher who possesses great technical skills among others. ART’s Security Researchers will be required to exercise various skills supporting intelligence team objectives at CrowdStrike. This includes conducting research on information security topics, providing technical guidance across the organization for Crowdstrike Intelligence teams and developing tools that will help analysts in their day-to-day tasks as well as collecting adversary technical data.

Besides working on long-term research and collection projects, ART security researchers may be called upon to urgently solve unique problems arising from other groups within CrowdStrike Intelligence.

What You’ll Do:

Design automated systems that can handle large quantities of data such as malware specimens or network traffic

Honeypots are run by threat hunters; therefore it is essential that you operate them continuously and in line with TTPs employed by adversaries

Find vulnerabilities present in software applications/distribute vulnerability advisories.

Copy

Vendor patches are examined for retrieving vulnerability information

Identify vulnerabilities in new applications or products.

Develop proof-of-concept exploits.

Cross collaborate with other teams within and beyond CrowdStrike Intelligence to

Meet specific technical collection needs.

Alert on security issues

Recreate emerging vulnerabilities and provide actionable technical intelligence

Announce findings through CrowdStrike blog or conferences

Requirements:

Good English proficiency both spoken and written presentations.

4+ years of experience in information security background.

Strong grasp of internal operating systems such as Linux and Microsoft Windows

Solid understanding of network protocols

Good programming experience using low level languages such as C or Python scripting languages

Ability to work remotely, but still be part of the team-work spirit.

Superior problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and strong analytical ability to research outside the box, validate, investigate and solve problems,

Additional points:

Knowledge on how to unpack malware reverse engineering tools debuggers (disassemblers decompilers) and process (reconstructing code logic)

Success in participating CTF competitions

Experience in vulnerability research and exploit development

Mobile platforms/operating systems like Android/iOS.

Go/Rust programming experience.

Background on threat intelligence

Education:

BA/BS or equivalent experience in Information Security/Computer Science/Computer Engineering, or related field.
